Tattoo Preparation
How to Prepare for your Tattoo Session.
Hygiene and Skin Care:
- Keep the skin clean and moisturized in the days leading up to the tattoo.
- Avoid sunburn or irritation in the tattoo area.
Stay Hydrated:
- Drink plenty of water in the days before your appointment to keep your skin hydrated.
Avoid Alcohol and Drugs:
- Refrain from consuming alcohol or drugs at least 24 hours before getting tattooed.
Get Adequate Sleep:
- Ensure you have a good night's sleep before your appointment.
Eat Well:
- Have a healthy meal before your appointment to maintain your energy levels. Bring snacks if your tattoo will be more than an hour or two, but please don’t eat them near the tattoo area.
Wear Comfortable Clothing:
- Dress in a way that allows easy access to the area getting tattooed. Also wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting ink on.
Bring Valid ID:
- Make sure to bring a valid ID, especially if it's your first time at the studio.
Payment:
- Be prepared to pay for the tattoo. Payments are accepted via Pay pal, Venmo, zelle, credit card or cash and are taken off of the final pirce of the tattoo.
Pain Management:
- If you're concerned about pain, consult your doctor about taking pain medications that don’t affect blood clotting or thin the blood. I typically use a simple topical spray of Bactine Max which contains 4% Lidocaine if you have no allergies to such. This can be done periodically starting at about halfway through the Tattoo Process..
Arrange Transportation:
- Plan how you'll get to and from the studio, especially if you anticipate discomfort after the session.
Inform the Artist of Medical Conditions:
- If you have any allergies, medical conditions or are taking medications, inform your artist beforehand.
Relaxation Techniques:
- Practice relaxation techniques to help manage stress and anxiety during the tattooing process. I also recommend that you bring headphones so that you can entertain/distract yourself with music, movies, etc.
Prepare for Aftercare:
- Familiarize yourself with the aftercare instructions on the aftercare page.
By taking these steps, you can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable tattoo experience while promoting optimal healing afterward. Thanks you for reading.
